Hearing in the Maradona Case: Judicial Progress

The Oral Criminal Court (TOC) number three in San Isidro, which is investigating the death of Diego Armando Maradona, held a new hearing, although it has not yet set a date for the start of the popular jury trial in which the nurse Gisella Dahiana Madrid is accused. This was confirmed to the Argentine News Agency by the professional's lawyer, Rodolfo Baqué, who stated that next Monday, November 4, a new hearing will be held in which important audios for the case will be revealed and it will be determined when the trial will begin.

Meanwhile, the representative of Diego Fernando, one of the sons, Mario Baudry, indicated that there was a evidentiary agreement between the defense and the prosecution in which a list of witnesses who would testify during the process was prepared, along with a series of enumerated facts that would be key for the case. The catalog includes names such as Dalma, Gianinna, and Jana Maradona, the ex-partner of the Villa Fiorito native, Verónica Ojeda, Rocío Oliva, the sisters Rita and Ana Estela Maradona, the former president of Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata Gabriel Pellegrino, and the head of the Argentine Football Association (AFA), Claudio 'Chiqui' Tapia.

Justice confirmed last week the rejection of the request to suspend the trial against the nurse that had been submitted by the prosecution. Madrid is accused of alleged 'simple homicide with eventual intent' to the detriment of the former Boca and Argentina national team player, who died on November 25, 2020, in a private neighborhood in Tigre. Meanwhile, neurosurgeon Leopoldo Luque, psychiatrist Agustina Cosachov, psychologist Carlos Díaz, nurse Ricardo Almirón, his chief Mariano Perroni, and clinical doctor Pedro Pablo Di Spagna, along with the coordinator doctor of a prepaid health plan, Nancy Edith Forlini, will be judged only on March 11, 2025.
